Hekija Shogen - Evil remarks

Japanese: 闢邪小言 - へきじゃしょうげん

This is one of the leading works on the theory of reverence for the Emperor at the end of the Edo period. It was written by Ohashi Totsuan. It was written in 1852 (Kaei 5) with a preface and published in 1857 (Ansei 4). As it discussed the economic opportunities and was timely, it sold very well, but Totsuan is said to have used all of the profits to purchase weapons. It consists of four volumes and four books, and a copy is kept at Ryukoku University, while printed versions are kept in many places around the country, including the National Diet Library. Printed versions include "Complete Works of Ohashi Totsuan Sensei" Vol. 1, "Complete Works of Meiji Culture" Thought Edition, and "Corrected Evil Admonitions." [Matsuura Rei]

幕末尊皇論の代表的著述の一つ。著者は大橋訥菴（とつあん）。1852年(嘉永5)の自序，57年(安政4)刊行。活機を論じて時機にかない非常によく売れたが，訥菴はその利益をことごとく武器の購入に充てたという。4巻4冊で，写本が竜谷大学に，版本は国立国会図書館はじめ各地に多く蔵されている。活字本は《大橋訥菴先生全集》上，《明治文化全集》思想編，《校訂闢邪小言》などがある。【松浦玲】
