Jaimini - Jaimini (English spelling)

He established the Mimamsa school, one of the six schools of Indian philosophy. He is said to be the author of the Mimamsa Sutra. He is known to have been a scholar of the lineage of the Sama-Veda, but details about him are unknown. He established the Mimamsa school, a unified system of interpretation of the methods and meaning of dharma (religious duty), or rituals, and is said to have been well versed in the Upanishads and an authority on Vedanta philosophy.

インド六派哲学の一つ、ミーマーンサー学派の確立者。『ミーマーンサー・スートラ』の著者とされる。『サーマ・ベーダ』の系統の学者であったことが知られるほか、その人物像についての詳細は不明。ダルマ（宗教的義務）すなわち祭祀(さいし)の方法と意義に関する統一的解釈の体系であるミーマーンサー学を確立したほか、ウパニシャッドに通暁し、ベーダーンタ哲学についての権威でもあったと伝えられる。
