Photographic paper made from silver bromide, and also photographs printed onto that photographic paper. In Japan, portraits of popular people such as actors and singers are called "promades," but this term was invented at the end of the Taisho period, when portraits of movie actors were being sold as products, and it seemed odd to use the name "promade" for the photographic paper. The first promade movie star was Kurishima Sumiko in 1921 (Taisho 10).
