Bourgogne Theatre (English: Théâtre de l'Hôtel de Bourgogne)
A theater in Paris. It was founded in 1548 by the Society of Passion Plays to perform mystical plays. In the early 17th century, it was rented to touring theaters in France and abroad, and the "King's Actors" led by Balland-Lecomte, Mondry, and Bellerose performed tragedies and comedies by A. Hardy and J. Lotreux, and the trio of Turullupin, Gauttier-Garguille, and Gros Guillaume won acclaim for their farce. In the second half of the 17th century, Montfleury, Floridor, and La Chammeray performed Racine's tragedies, and it became the leading theater and theater in France. In 1680, the theater was merged with the Comédie-Française when it was founded. The theater remained, and Fiorillo, an Italian Scaramuccia actor, performed commedia dell'arte until 1797, and it became an opera-comique theater from 1716 to 1782.
