Beach swimsuit

Japanese:
Beach swimsuit
A general term for clothing worn by men and women at the beach or when swimming. Simply saying "swimwear" or "bathing suit" is a translation of the English words "swimsuit" and "bathing suit," and the broader term "beach wear" is also a translation of beach wear. There are various shapes, such as trunks for men and topless tops for women that cover only the lower part of the waist, bikinis that are separated into a bra and short pants, tight-fitting shirts like tank suits and maillots, and one-piece suits with short skirts like dressmaker swimsuits, and they are made of a variety of materials, including knits and woven fabrics. According to records, attempts at beachwear in the West appeared as early as the end of the 17th century, and then in the 1870s, but it was not until the latter half of the 19th century that they became common. In Japan, they first appeared on the Shonan coast from the 1880s to 1930s, and became common after the mid-Taisho period.
