Japanese: エゾムラサキツツジ - えぞむらさきつつじ

A semi-evergreen shrub in the Ericaceae family (APG classification: Ericaceae). The leaves are alternate, oblong, 3-6 cm long, and have round glandular scales on both sides. The funnel-shaped, bell-shaped, 5-lobed crimson-purple flowers bloom in May and June. The corolla is about 3 cm in diameter and has hairs on the outside. It grows in the mountains of Hokkaido, and is distributed in Korea, northern China, and eastern Siberia.

ツツジ科（APG分類：ツツジ科）の半常緑の低木。葉は互生し、長楕円(ちょうだえん)形、長さ3～6センチメートルで両面に円い腺鱗片(せんりんぺん)がある。5～6月、漏斗(ろうと)状鐘形で5裂した紅紫色の花が開く。花冠は径約3センチメートルで外側に毛がある。北海道の山地に生え、朝鮮、中国北部、シベリア東部に分布する。
