Vienna's cathedral, also known as St. Stephen's Cathedral. Originally a parish cathedral, it was elevated to a diocese cathedral in 1479 and an archdiocese cathedral in 1722. The Romanesque-style chancel was completed in 1340. Reconstruction of the crossing and sanctuary began around 1759, the roof in 1410, and the vault in 1746. The bell towers above the transepts were completed in 1433 for the south tower. Construction of the north tower was halted in 1511, with only the lower part completed, and a Renaissance-style dome was installed in 1587. It was destroyed by fire during World War II, but was rebuilt by 1952. The four-story sharp-edged pyramidal south tower is one of the most beautiful Gothic bell towers. The interior features many excellent statues and sculptural decorations, with the pulpit and organ balcony being particularly noteworthy.

ウィーン市の大聖堂。ザンクト・シュテファン大聖堂ともいう。本来は教区聖堂であったが，1479年司教区大聖堂，1722年大司教区大聖堂に昇格。ロマネスク様式の内陣は 1340年に完成。 59年頃交差部と外陣の再建に着手，屋根は 1410年，ボールト vaultは 46年頃完成。翼廊の上部をなす鐘塔は，南塔が 33年に完成。北塔は下部のみで 11年に工事が中止され，1587年にルネサンス式のドームとなった。第2次世界大戦中，戦火で焼失したが，1952年までに再建。4階建ての鋭い角錐状をなす南塔はゴシックの最も美しい鐘塔の一つ。堂内の彫像，彫刻装飾にすぐれたものが多く，特に説教壇とオルガン用バルコニーが注目される。
