Anak Incident

…After the conclusion of the Japan-Korea Protectorate Treaty, he became a teacher in Angak, Hwanghae Province, and participated in the New People's Association Movement. In 1911, he was imprisoned for over three years for the oppression of people in the Hwanghae Province area (Angak Incident). After the outbreak of the March 1st Independence Movement, he went to Shanghai and participated in the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea (provisional government), serving as Chief of the Police Bureau and Minister of the Interior before becoming State Secretary in 1926, the highest-ranking official in the provisional government. …
