A type of ancient bee. A group of tomo who worked in literary duties at the Imperial Court. Most of them are thought to have descended from immigrants from the continent or the peninsula. Unlike ordinary bees, they were given the surname "shi". As they are called the "Yamato Kawachi no Fuhitobe," the two major powers were the Fumi no Atae clan, a branch of the Yamato Ayanoatai clan based in Yamato (Nara Prefecture), and the Kawachi no Fumi no Obito clan, based in Kawachi (Osaka Prefecture). However, from the 6th century onwards, the Funanofuhito, Tsuhito, and Shiraihito clans, who claimed to be descendants of the newly arrived Oushinni, grew in power, were assimilated into the Nishi Bunshu clan, and gradually came to monopolise the history section.
