Funasaka Pass

A pass between Mitsuishi, Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture and Kamigori Town, Ako District, Hyogo Prefecture. It is 180 meters above sea level. It is a pass on the old Sanyo Road, and National Route 2 and the JR Sanyo Main Line pass under the pass through a tunnel. In ancient times, a stable was located in Sakanaga (near present-day Mitsuishi) to the west of the pass. The Taiheiki records that Kojima Takanori waited at the pass to rescue Emperor Godaigo, who was exiled to Oki.

岡山県備前(びぜん)市三石(みついし)と兵庫県赤穂(あこう)郡上郡(かみごおり)町の間にある峠。標高180メートル。旧山陽道の峠で、国道2号とJR山陽本線はトンネルで峠の下を通過する。古代には峠の西、坂長(さかなが)（現在の三石付近）に駅(うまや)が置かれた。『太平記』には児島高徳(こじまたかのり)が隠岐(おき)へ配流される後醍醐(ごだいご)天皇を奪還するため、峠に待ち受けたことが記されている。
