A history book that describes the process of Tokugawa Ieyasu's unification of Japan. 93 volumes. Written in a mixture of kana and Japanese characters, it was written in 1740 (Genbun 5) by Kimura Takaatsu, a shogunate official. It details the events from Ieyasu's birth in 1542 (Tenbun 11) to his death in 1616 (Genna 2), quoting ancient documents and waka poetry. It contains many articles that do not appear in other historical sources, so it is highly valued as a major document on the founding of the Tokugawa clan. There are many copies from the Edo period in circulation, but a facsimile of the woodblock type version was published in 1976 (Showa 51) (published by Meishu Publishing).
