During the Sengoku period, these were people who were newly separated from peasant status and required to perform military service. The Erinji Land Survey Diary of 1563 (Eiroku 6) lists 23 military service members along with 12 vassals (police constables) who served in the military and 145 general peasants. When this is examined together with the Erinji Land Grain and Rice and Public Affairs Tax Register, which was originally part of the land survey diary, it is clear that the constables were vassals who served as constables for the subordinate generals of the Takeda clan of Kai, and were organized at the bottom of the yorioya-yoriko system, and that the land that was the subject of the land survey was confirmed as their main territory as a favor to the emperor.
