[Died] March 9/13, 1619. London. British actor and theatre manager. Second son of J. Burbage. Debuted around 1584. First played major roles in Shakespeare's works, including Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, and Richard III. Also starred in many plays by B. Johnson, T. Kidd, F. Beaumont, and J. Fletcher. Together with his brother C. Burbage, they moved their father's theatre to the south bank of the Thames and opened it as the Globe Theatre (1599), demonstrating their talent in theatre management.

English theatre owner. The eldest son of J. Burbage and the brother of the famous actor R. Burbage. He inherited his father's theatre, but later dismantled it and moved it to the south bank of the Thames, opening it as the Globe Theatre in 1599. Shakespeare and H. Coindel also participated in the management.

English actor and theatre owner. He is believed to have first performed with the Earl of Leicester's Men, but in 1576 he founded the first proper theatre in England, the Theatre, and in 1596 opened the Blackfriars Theatre, making him a pioneer in theatre management in England.
