〘Noun〙① One of the thirteen schools of Hieizan Daimitsu. Its founder was Ogawa Hoin Tadayoshi, who studied under Keichu, a disciple of Seisho, the founder of the Anou school. Later, the Seizan school, founded by Suguo, a disciple of Tadayoshi's grandson, branched off. ② A school of dance. It was founded by Osaka choreographer Ogawa Riuemon (also known as Riuemon) around the An'ei and Kansei eras ( 1772-1801 ) in the Edo period. Riuemon was known as a master along with Seyama Shichizaemon, founder of the Seyama school, but it was later overpowered by the Yamamura school and fell into decline.
