Hooker

Japanese: フッカー
Hooker
American blues singer, guitarist, and composer. He was exposed to early bluesmen such as Blind Lemon Jefferson (1897-1929) and Charlie Patton (1887-1934) at a young age, and was strongly influenced by Delta blues. He gained attention with his debut song "Boogie Chillun" in 1949, and continued to produce many hits thereafter. His representative works include "I'm In The Mood" and "Boom Boom". His flexible attitude toward the music of the times won him widespread support, and many blues and rock musicians later followed suit.

Hooker

British naturalist and plant taxonomist. He explored Antarctica, Northeast Asia, Morocco, North America, and other places, investigating the plants of each region. He succeeded his father, WJ Hooker, as director of the Botanic Gardens, Kew, and established a reputation as a research facility. As a friend of C. Darwin, he arranged for the publication of his theory of evolution and was a strong supporter of it. His works include "Flora of the Antarctic", "A Voyage to the Himalayas", and "Species of Plants" (co-authored with G. Bentham).
