Kabuki choreographer and actor. (1) First (1813-51, Bunka 10-Kaei 4): A disciple of Ichikawa Danjūrō 7th, who later became a student of Fujima Kanjūrō and became a choreographer. (2) Second (1840-1925, Tenpo 11-Taishō 14): Studied under Kamesa Kanjūrō and became acquainted with Ichikawa Danjūrō 9th, becoming a famous choreographer in the early 20th century. At one time he succeeded Nishikawa Senjūrō 6th. His main choreographies include Kagamijishi and Onatsu Kyoran. (3) Third: Matsumoto Koshiro 7th, the second's adopted son, took the name in 1917. 歌舞伎振付師,俳優。(1)初世(1813‐51∥文化10‐嘉永4) 7世市川団十郎の門弟で,のち藤間勘十郎の門に入り振付師に転じた。(2)2世(1840‐1925∥天保11‐大正14) 亀三(かめさ)勘十郎に師事し9世市川団十郎の知遇を得て,20世紀初頭の名振付師となった。一時6世西川扇蔵をついだ。おもな振付に《鏡獅子》《お夏狂乱》がある。(3)3世 2世の養子7世松本幸四郎が1917年に襲名。(4)4世 3世の実子2世尾上松緑が1937年に襲名。
