A town in Minamikoma district in western Yamanashi Prefecture. The eastern part of the town is at the southwestern edge of the Kofu Basin, with the Fuji River running north to south through it. It was formed in March 2010 by the merger of Masuho town and Kajikazawa town in Minamikoma district. On the northern border with Minami-Alps City, Mount Fuji and the Shiramine Sanzan mountains can be seen, and Mount Kushigatake, known for its beautiful flower clusters, is located here. The Chubu-Odan Expressway and National Route 52 pass through the town. 山梨県西部,南巨摩(みなみこま)郡の町。東部は甲府盆地南西端にあたり,南北に富士川が貫流する。2010年3月,南巨摩郡増穂町,鰍沢町が合併して誕生。北部,南アルプス市との境界には富士山や白峰三山が眺望でき,花の群生の美しさで知られる櫛形山がある。中部横断自動車道,国道52号線が通じる。東日本大震災で,町内において被害が発生。112.00km2。1万6307人(2010)。
