This is a chronology-style record of events that occurred in Edo and its suburbs. It consists of 12 volumes. Takee means Edo in Musashi Province. The editor was Saito Yukinari (Gesshin), headman of Kanda Kijicho. The main volume was published in 8 volumes in 1848 (Kaei 1), and the sequel volume was published in 4 volumes in 1878 (Meiji 11). The main volume covers the period from 1590 (Tensho 18), when Tokugawa Ieyasu entered the country, to 1848 (Kaei 1), and the sequel covers the period from the following year to 1873 (Meiji 6). It contains numerous articles about fires and the exhibition of principal Buddhist statues from famous temples in various provinces, and also contains many descriptions correcting popular myths about the origins of various things in Edo. Although it is not perfect, it is a useful historical resource. Included in "Edo Series" and "Toyo Bunko."
