漢方薬に用いる生薬(しょうやく)の一つ。サルノコシカケ科マツホドの菌核(きんかく)を乾燥したもの。マツの根に寄生するキノコで、健胃、利尿、強心などの作用がある。胃炎、胃アトニー、消化不良に効く茯苓飲(いん)、胃下垂、胃拡張、消化不良に効く六君子湯(りっくんしとう)、胃腸が弱い人の気管支炎、気管支喘息(ぜんそく)に効く苓甘姜味辛夏仁湯(りょうかんきょうみしんげにんとう)などに含まれている。
