Thin paper used to copy pencil, ballpoint pen, or typewriter prints includes paper with carbon paper sandwiched between them (copy paper), paper with carbon applied to the entire or part of the back of the top sheets of multiple sheets (reverse carbon paper), and carbonless paper (pressure-sensitive copy paper) that undergoes chemical coloring. Its characteristics include being strong for a thin paper (thick ones have a weight of 40 grams per square meter, thin ones about 16 grams), having no pinholes, not tearing even when stamped, being able to make multiple copies, having good texture, and being opaque. For this reason, the raw pulp for copy paper is 100% bleached chemical pulp, and to obtain particularly thin and strong paper, it is made by mixing in a large amount of bleached chemical pulp made from Manila hemp or bast. In a broad sense, copying is a method that enables the direct production of a single or limited number of copies, or the creation of an original or master for the production of multiple reproductions using offset printing or diazo paper. If all the paper used for this is referred to as copying paper, there are many types, including highly transparent papers such as transparent photographic paper and thick processed papers.
