Energy efficiency
Formerly known as caloric efficiency, it is an indicator of the degree to which food energy is utilized by the living organism. For example, the efficiency at which it is utilized for maintenance, and the efficiency of the amount of energy stored in the body when energy is ingested in excess of maintenance. It is an especially important concept when raising livestock.
