Energy efficiency

Formerly known as caloric efficiency, it is an indicator of the degree to which food energy is utilized by the living organism. For example, the efficiency at which it is utilized for maintenance, and the efficiency of the amount of energy stored in the body when energy is ingested in excess of maintenance. 以前はカロリー効率ともいった．食物のエネルギーがどの程度生体に利用されるかで，種々の指標がある．例えば，維持のために利用される効率，維持を超えてエネルギーを摂取した場合の体に蓄えられるエネルギー量としての効率など．特に家畜の飼育に際しては重要な概念．
