Kojiro Fukushi

Kojiro Fukushi

Poet. Born in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture. Graduated from the National English Association. In 1909 (Meiji 42), on the recommendation of Hitomi Tomei, he published poems such as "Omori" in the eighth volume of "Shizen to Impression." He subsequently contributed to magazines such as Sosaku, Shinbungei, and Subaru. In 1912 (Taisho 1), he founded "Terakotsuta" with Senge Motomaro and others, and the following year "Seikatsu." In his poetry collections "Taiyo no Ko" (Child of the Sun) (1914) and "Tenbo" (View) (1920), he wrote humanitarian-style songs about life in a simple, colloquial style. He also published distinctive research and critical works such as "Nihon phonometric theory" (1930) and "Honnihon ko" (Thoughts on the original Japan) (1942).

詩人。青森県弘前(ひろさき)に生まれる。国民英学会卒業。1909年(明治42)、人見東明(とうめい)の推薦で『自然と印象』第八集に『錘(おもり)』などの詩を発表。以後『創作』『新文芸』『スバル』などに寄稿。12年(大正1)、千家元麿(せんげもとまろ)らと『テラコツタ』、翌年には『生活』を創刊した。詩集『太陽の子』(1914)、『展望』(1920)で人道主義風な生命の歌を平易な口語体で書いた。『日本音数律論』(1930)、『原日本考』(1942)などの特色のある研究評論書もある。
