A city located in northern Italy, downstream of the Po River. At the end of the 15th century, Ercole I of the Este family ordered architect Biagio Rossetti to remodel the city based on Renaissance urban planning. As a result, Europe's first modern city was born, with wide roads, parks and gardens, and buildings of uniform height. The Palazzo dei Diamanti and the Este Castle are also buildings from that time. In 1995 and 1999, Ferrara was registered as a World Heritage Site (cultural heritage) as "Ferrara: Renaissance City and the Po Delta". Ferrara.
