During World War II, a small group of Islamic fundamentalists was organized in Tehran by Seyyed Mojtaba Mir-Rauhi (later known as Nababeh Safavid). They aimed to strictly enforce Sharia and eradicate non-Islamic elements, and used terror as a common method of attack. They assassinated Kasrabi (1946), Minister of the Household Abdul Hosseine Hajir (1949), and Prime Minister Ali Razmarah (1951), all of whom were critical of the existing Shiite Islam, posing a considerable threat to the Mossadegh regime.
