A group of mental disorders coined by German psychiatrist Kretschmer. It is also the title of a professorial dissertation published in 1918 under the influence of Gaub. It is said to occur under certain interpersonal and intersocial conflict situations, with a specific personality structure of a sensitive personality (a modest, shy, and hypersensitive personality), and is characterized by delusions of reference and persecution, with a clinical picture that is difficult to distinguish from the delusional type of schizophrenia or paranoia. In this dissertation, Kretschmer clarified that there is an internal relationship between personality structure and experiences that induce psychosis, and that delusions are derived from experiences and personality structure in both content and form, and that personality, experiences, and psychosis form a complete whole.

ドイツの精神医学者クレッチマーが創唱した精神疾患群。ガウプの影響をうけて1918年に発表した教授資格論文の題名ともなっている。敏感性格(控えめ，内気で対人関係に過敏な性格)という特定の人格構造を前提に，特定の対人的･対社会的な葛藤状況の下で出現し，関係妄想，被害妄想などを抱き，精神分裂症の妄想型やパラノイアと区別されがたい病像を示すとされる。クレッチマーはこの論文で人格構造と精神病を誘発する体験との間には内的関連があり，この関連から妄想が内容的にも形式的にも体験と人格構造から導出され，人格，体験，精神病が一つの完結した全体を作ることなどを明らかにしている。
