A town in Hiroo County, Hokkaido. It is located east of the Hidaka Mountains and faces the Pacific Ocean to the east. The central settlement faces Tokachi Port, which has been a fishing port since the Edo period, and developed as a fishing base after the port was renovated. In addition to fishing, including salmon and trout farming, the town also operates field crops and dairy farming.
