A town in Hiroo County, Hokkaido. It is located east of the Hidaka Mountains and faces the Pacific Ocean to the east. The central settlement faces Tokachi Port, which has been a fishing port since the Edo period, and developed as a fishing base after the port was renovated. In addition to fishing, including salmon and trout farming, the town also operates field crops and dairy farming. 北海道広尾郡の町。日高山脈の東に位置し，東は太平洋に面する。中心集落は江戸時代からの漁港である十勝港に臨み，港の修築により漁業根拠地として発展。サケ，マスの養殖など漁業を行うほか，畑作，酪農も営む。東日本大震災で，町内において被害が発生。596.54km2。7881人（2010）。
