Industrial carrier

Industrial carrier
A private carrier is a type of transportation service in which a manufacturing company owns or bareboat charters a ship to transport raw materials and fuels used exclusively by the company in its production activities, or to transport its products. This type of transportation is therefore not a shipping market activity, since no freight is paid or received. The concept of an industrial carrier also includes cases in which a manufacturing company establishes a subsidiary and has that subsidiary transport its own cargo exclusively.
