Abbreviated as IE. Technology for increasing the productivity of work done by humans. "Work done by humans" includes everything from housework and factory work to clerical work and the work of air traffic controllers, and sometimes military activities and research and development activities. "Work productivity" is the ratio between the amount of input resources (inputs) required for work, such as people, things, and equipment, and the amount of products or services (outputs) produced from the work. The goal of IE is to produce more output with less input. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
