Dokigawa River

A river that flows north through central Kagawa Prefecture. It is 33 kilometers long and has a drainage area of ​​140 square kilometers. It originates near Mount Ryuo (1,060 meters), the highest peak of the Sanuki Mountains, flows northwest, and empties into the Seto Inland Sea at the Marugame Plain. There are many underground rivers throughout the prefecture, and in some places the water only flows when it rains. Many dams have been constructed on major rivers in the prefecture, but none are found in the Toki River basin. There are numerous reservoirs in the Marugame Plain downstream, and Mannou Pond relies on water channeled from the Toki River for part of its water source.

香川県中部を北流する川。延長33キロメートル。流域面積140平方キロメートル。讃岐(さぬき)山脈の最高峰竜王山（1060メートル）付近に源を発し、北西流して丸亀(まるがめ)平野で瀬戸内海に流入する。至る所で伏流し、降雨時しか流れのみられない所がある。県内の主要河川では多数のダムが建設されるが、土器川流域にはない。下流部の丸亀平野には無数の溜池(ためいけ)があり、満濃(まんのう)池は水源の一部を土器川からの導水に依存している。
