Ten works - Jissaku

Japanese: 十作 - じっさく

This refers to ten representative Noh mask makers from the Northern and Southern Courts to the Muromachi period, and they are considered to be masters second only to Shinsaku. They are Nikko, Miroku, Yasha, Fukuhara Bunzo, Ryuemon, Shakutsuru Yoshinari, Himi Munetada, Ochi Kisshu, Koushi Kiyomitsu, and Tokuwaka Tadamasa. There is also a theory that Shakuo Hyoe was the maker instead of Ochi Kisshu. Their works are mostly based on legends and later appraisals, and there are very few definitive sources.

南北朝〜室町時代の代表的能面作者10人をさし，神作に次ぐ名工とされる。日光，弥勒(みろく)，夜叉(やしゃ)，福原文蔵，竜右衛門，赤鶴(しゃくつる)吉成，氷見(ひみ)宗忠，越智吉舟，小牛清光，徳若忠政。越智吉舟の代りに石王(しゃくおう)兵衛とする説もある。彼らの作品は伝説や後世の鑑定によるものが多く，確実なものはほとんどない。
