A Rococo Italian family that produced many stage designers and architects. They are also known as the Galli da Bibiena family. They originated from Bibiena near Florence and were based in Bologna. Eight members of the family over three generations were active in various European courts in the 17th and 18th centuries, and designed and created many sets for operas, celebrations, balls, and funerals. Although no stage remains, it is known that their stage was characterized by a two-point perspective composition in which the corner of the backdrop was brought to the foreground and the spectators were able to see the two adjacent sides.
