Disteghil Sar (mountain)

Japanese: ディステギル･サール[山]（英語表記）Disteghil Sar

It is the main peak of the Distegir mountain range, which belongs to the Hispar Mustagh in the center of the Karakoram mountain range. It has an elevation of 7,885m, with the central and eastern peaks lined up on the east side. The name of the mountain means a snowy peak in the shape of a round stone wall used to enclose grazing livestock. It was discovered by the British explorer G. Cockerill in 1892, who explored the Shimshal River valley on the north side, but it cannot be seen from the Hispar Glacier side on the south side unless you enter the Khun Yang Glacier. A British team attempted to climb it from the Khun Yang Glacier in 1957, and a Swiss team in 1959, and an Austrian team succeeded in the first ascent on July 8, 1960.

カラコルム山脈の中央，ヒスパー･ムスターグに属するディステギル山群の主峰。標高7885mで，東側に中央峰と東峰が並ぶ。山名は放牧の家畜を囲い込む丸い石の壁の形をした雪の峰を意味する。1892年北側のシムシャール川渓谷を探検したイギリス人G.コッカーリルが発見したが，南のヒスパー氷河側からはクンヤン氷河に入り込まないと見えない。1957年イギリス隊，59年スイス隊がクンヤン氷河から試登し，60年7月8日オーストリア隊が初登頂に成功した。
