The title of a position in the Kamakura Shogunate. It was established in 1257 and assigned guards to the Shogun's residence, providing night watch and security. There were six ranks, each with 10 people, and in 1260 the number of ranks was increased to 12. The Kenmu New Government also placed this position under Prince Narinaga, Shogun of Kamakura. 鎌倉幕府の職名。正嘉1 (1257) 年に設けられ,将軍の廂御所に番を定めて宿直,警固を任務とした。 10人を1番として6番あり,文応1 (60) 年には1番の人数を 12人とした。建武新政府も鎌倉の征夷大将軍成良親王のもとにこの職をおいた。
