Japanese: 漢委奴国王印 - かんのわのなのこくおういん

This seal was discovered in 1784 on Shika Island in Hakata Bay. The Book of the Later Han states that in 57 Emperor Guangwu gave a seal (a seal with a ribbon that the emperor gives to his subjects) to an envoy from the Wa Kingdom, and this seal is thought to be of that type. Made of pure gold, it is also known as a gold seal. It is engraved with the words "King of Wa in Han." Wa was a small state near Hakata, later known as Nanoagata. It is an important historical document as the document and the actual item match, but there are also theories that it is a fake.

1784年，博多湾の志賀島(しかのしま)で発見された印。《後漢書(ごかんじょ)》に，57年光武帝が倭奴国の使節に印綬（天子が臣下に与える綬(くみひも)の付いた印）を与えたとあり，この印はそのたぐいと考えられる。純金製で金印とも呼ばれる。〈漢委奴国王〉と陰刻。奴国は博多付近の小国家で後の儺県(なのあがた)。文献と現物の一致する重要史料だが，偽物説もある。
