Born: 1869. Mandal [Died] 1943. Norwegian sculptor. He first studied wood carving, then studied abroad in Paris and Italy, and was influenced by Rodin from the time of his training. Beginning in 1915, he created the huge Fountain Groups, a monument consisting of four large group figures and over 100 symbolic human figures, in Frogner Park in Oslo.
