Higashiyama [Hot Springs] - Higashiyama

Japanese: 東山[温泉] - ひがしやま

Hot spring located 5km southeast of Aizuwakamatsu city, Fukushima prefecture. Salt-containing gypsum spring. 45-68℃. It is said to have been discovered by Gyoki in the 8th century, and in the Edo period, the Aizu clan opened a public bath called Soyu. Inns line both banks of the Yukawa River. There are many scenic spots upstream of the Yukawa River, such as Amefurutaki Falls and Byobu Rock, and Mount Seaburi has a great view. Take a bus from Aizuwakamatsu city.

福島県会津若松市，市街の南東5kmにある温泉。含食塩石膏泉など。45〜68℃。８世紀に行基が発見したと伝え，江戸時代には会津藩が総湯という共同浴場を開いたという。湯川の両岸に旅館が並ぶ。湯川上流に雨降滝，屏風(びょうぶ)岩などの景勝が多く，背炙(せあぶり)山は見晴らしがよい。会津若松市街からバス。
