Japanese: 東松山[市] - ひがしまつやま

A city in central Saitama prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1954. It is made up of part of the Hiki Hills and a plateau, with the Tsuki River and Ichino River flowing southeast. In the early modern period, it developed as a post town and market town on a side road. The Tobu Tojo Line and the Kan'etsu Expressway run through the city. Industrialization progressed after an automobile parts factory moved in in 1939, and an industrial complex was also built, with the automobile parts industry accounting for about 50% of the city's manufactured goods shipment value (2003). There has been a remarkable shift to residential areas, with the development of Takasaka New Town and the population increasing since 1990. There are many ruins and ancient tombs, including the Prefectural Children's Zoo and Nature Park, and the Goryo Ruins, and Yoshimi's Hyakuana is also nearby. 65.35 ^km2 . 90,099 people (2010).

埼玉県中央部の市。1954年市制。比企丘陵の一部と台地からなり，槻(つき)川，市ノ川が南東流する。近世は脇往還の宿場町，市場町として発達。東武東上線，関越自動車道が通じる。1939年に自動車部品の工場が進出してから工業化が進み，工業団地もできて，自動車部品工業が市の製造品出荷額の約５割（2003）を占めている。高坂ニュータウンの造成など住宅地化が著しく，1990年から人口が増加している。県立こども動物自然公園や，五領(ごりょう)遺跡をはじめ遺跡，古墳が多く，吉見の百穴も近い。65.35km²。９万99人（2010）。
