[raw]? [Death] Shogen 2 (255) A military commander of Wei dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period in China. Guan can also be read as "Bu". He served Emperor Ming, gained his trust, and became governor of Youzhou. He was ordered to pacify the Gongsun clan in Liaodong, and in Jingchu 2 (238), he returned to the region with Sima Yi and destroyed Gongsun Yuan. In Zhengshi 5 (244), he was ordered to attack Goguryeo, defeated the Goguryeo army, and took the capital of the country, Wangdu. He returned the following year and ordered Xuantu prefect Wang Qi to attack Goguryeo again, and Wang Qi's army crossed the present-day Hamhung Plain and reached Jiandao. On his way back, Guan Qiu Jian erected a monument to his achievements at Wangdu, and it is well known that a fragment of the monument was discovered at Banshiling in Ji'an County in the early 20th century. After the death of Emperor Ming, he clashed with the powerful Sima clan over the succession, was defeated, and was assassinated.
