Japanese: 東大阪[市] - ひがしおおさか

A city in the eastern part of Osaka Prefecture. In 1967, the three former cities of Fuse, Kawachi, and Hiraoka merged to form a city. In the mid-Edo period, new fields such as Konoike Shinden were developed, and Kawachi cotton was produced in abundance. It occupies the central Osaka Plain and is a satellite city bordering the east side of Osaka City, and is experiencing rapid population growth. It is part of the eastern Osaka industrial zone, and is home to factories producing hardware, machinery, plastics, distribution centers, truck terminals, and wholesale companies. It is served by the Katamachi Line, Osaka Higashi Line, Kintetsu Lines, Osaka Municipal Subway Chuo Line, Kinki Expressway, and Hanshin Expressway. The eastern part of the city belongs to Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park. Hanazono Rugby Stadium is located here. ^{Area: 61.78 km2} . Population: 509,533 (2010).

大阪府東部の市。1967年布施，河内，枚岡(ひらおか)の旧３市が合併し市制。江戸中期鴻池新田などの新田が開発され，河内木綿も多産した。大阪平野中部を占め大阪市の東に接する衛星都市で，人口増加が著しい。大阪東部工業地帯の一部をなし金物，機械，プラスチックなどの工場，流通センター，トラックターミナルが設けられ，卸企業が進出している。片町線，おおさか東線，近鉄各線，大阪市営地下鉄中央線，近畿自動車道，阪神高速道路などが通じる。東部は金剛生駒紀泉国定公園に属する。花園ラグビー場がある。61.78km²。50万9533人（2010）。
