Sanron Gengi - The Mysteries of Three Theory

Japanese:
Sanron Gengi - The Mysteries of Three Theory

A Buddhist book from the Sui Dynasty in China. 1 volume. Written by Jizo, the great master of the San-ron teachings, during his stay at the Enichi dojo in Yangzhou (Jiangsu Province) (around 597-599). The San-ron refers to the Indian Nagarjuna's Madhyamaka-sarastra and Twelve Gates Treatise, and the disciple Devadatta's Hundred Treatises. Nagarjuna's Mahaprajnaparamita-sarastra is included in the Four Treatises. All of these discuss the emptiness of the Prajnaparamita Sutra, and were translated into Chinese by Kumarajiva, who came to Chang'an in 401. The school based on the San-ron sect is called the San-ron sect. "Sanron Gengi" is a book in which Kichizo concisely explains the profound doctrines of the Sanron and their outlines, and generally teaches that the Sanron teachings are based on the principles of destroying evil, revealing the truth, attaining nothing, the true nature of all phenomena, and the middle way. It is famous as an introductory book to the philosophy of emptiness.
