Tongu clan - Tonguuji

Japanese: 頓宮氏 - とんぐううじ
Tongu clan - Tonguuji
A medieval samurai family. Also read as "Hayami." The most famous is the Tonmiya clan, which arose from Tonmiya-go in Koga County, Omi Province, and descended from the regent Fujiwara no Michinaga. Tonmiya Takamasa built Aodo Castle, and during his son's generation, the clan split into three: Tsuchiyama, Kurokawa, and Ono. The Tonmiya documents include a letter of arrival from Tonmiya Tomotsuna in Omi Province dated January 2, 1336 (3rd year of Kenmu), and a letter of transfer from Ono Mitsuyasu dated November 3, 1414 (21st year of Oei). In addition, the names of Tonmiya clan members, such as Tonmiya Matajiro Nyudo and his son, who lived in Bitchu Province, can be found in the Taiheiki, and they were also found in Bizen, Wakasa, and other areas.
