Katsurahama

This is a beach at the mouth of Urado Bay in Kochi City. A scenic spot with a sandy beach stretching between Cape Ryuo and Cape Ryuzu, it is also known as a famous spot to view the moon and has been designated as a city park. On the plateau behind it are a bronze statue of Sakamoto Ryoma, a monument to Omachi Keigetsu, and a monument to a poem by Yoshii Isamu. Near the top of the plateau where the national guesthouse is located is the site of Urado Castle, built by Chosokabe Motochika at the end of the Warring States period. In 1972 (Showa 47), the Urado Ohashi Bridge was built between this bridge and Tanezaki on the north shore of Urado Bay, making it possible to travel around the bay.

高知市の浦戸湾口にある海岸。竜王岬と竜頭(りゅうず)岬の間に砂浜が広がる景勝の地で、月の名所としても知られ、市立都市公園に指定されている。背後の台地には坂本龍馬(りょうま)の銅像をはじめ、大町桂月(けいげつ)記念碑や吉井勇の歌碑などがある。国民宿舎のある台地頂上付近は長宗我部元親(ちょうそがべもとちか)が戦国末期に築城した浦戸城跡でもある。1972年（昭和47）浦戸湾北岸の種崎(たねざき)との間に浦戸大橋が架橋され、浦戸湾周回が可能になった。
