Higashiura [town] - Higashiura
A former town in Tsuna District, northeast of Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture. Blessed with a mild climate, it is the center of flower and fruit cultivation on Awaji Island, and is shipped nationwide. A ferry boat runs between the town and Kobe City. In April 2005, it merged with Tsuna Town, Awaji Town, Kita Awaji Town, and Ichinomiya Town in Tsuna District to become Awaji City. 24.41 km2 . 8,726 people (2003).

Higashiura [town]

A town in the northeastern part of the Chita Peninsula, Chita District, Aichi Prefecture. The settlements are located in the alluvial lowlands in the east, and the Taketoyo Line runs through it. Furniture manufacturing and textile industries are carried out. The Aichi Irrigation Canal runs through the hills in the west, where vegetables and fruit are cultivated. Housing development is also progressing. 31.14 km2 . Population: 49,800 (2010).
