East India Party

Japanese: 東インド党 - ひがしインドとう

A political organization in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) formed on September 6, 1912. It was founded by three prominent nationalist leaders: EFE Dawes Deckel, a journalist of mixed European and Asian descent; Cipto Mangunkusumo, a Javanese physician; and Suwardi Suryaningrat, a member of the Javanese aristocracy who later founded the Taman Siswa School. Its target audience was "all residents of the Dutch East Indies," but in reality the majority of its members were of mixed European and Asian descent.

1912年9月6日に結成されたオランダ領東インド(現，インドネシア)の政治団体。欧亜混血のジャーナリストE.F.E.ダウエス･デッケル，ジャワ人の医師チプト･マングンクスモ，ジャワ貴族の出身でのちのタマン･シスワ学校創立者スワルディ･スルヤニングラットという3人の卓越した民族主義運動指導者が発起人となり，〈オランダ領東インドのすべての住民〉を対象としていたが，実際には欧亜混血人がメンバーの大半を占めていた。
