A princely family of Polani, based in Gniezno, who achieved the unification of Poland. Only a few of them ever became kings, and in most cases, they only held the throne for a short time. The term "dynasty" may not be appropriate, but we will follow the convention (see diagram). After the death of Casimir III (the Great), the ruler of the Kingdom of Poland was King Lajos I of Hungary, who was from the House of Angevin (Polish name Ludwig Węgierski, King of Hungary).
