Iwataki [town] - Iwataki
An old town in Yosa District, Kyoto Prefecture, facing the Aso Sea, separated from Miyazu Bay by Amanohashidate. It is a production area for Tango crepe, and produces a lot of small items such as obi, ties, and furoshiki. Stainless steel and golf grips are also produced thrivingly. Ouchi Pass offers a view of the Aso Sea. In March 2006, it merged with Kayo Town and Nodagawa Town in Yosa District to become Yosano Town in Yosa District. 11.99 km2 . 6,700 people (2003).

京都府与謝(よさ)郡,天橋立で宮津湾と隔てられた阿蘇海に臨む旧町。丹後縮緬(ちりめん)の産地であり,帯,ネクタイ,風呂敷など小物の生産が多い。ステンレス,ゴルフグリップの製造が盛ん。大内峠は阿蘇海展望地。2006年3月,与謝郡加悦町,野田川町と合併し町制,与謝郡与謝野町となる。11.99km2。6700人(2003)。
