He served Oda Nobunaga. In 1572 he became the guardian of Yamashiro, and in 1573 he also became the guardian of Yamato, and was given the surname Harada. In 1574 he joined Akechi Mitsuhide and others in the attack on Ishiyama Honganji Temple in Osaka, but was killed in battle on May 3 at Mitsudera in Settsu (Osaka Prefecture). His real surname was Ban. His first name was Shigetomo. He was commonly known as Kurozaemon. His other name was Nagatoshi.
