A story from the Muromachi period. Author unknown. Minister of Shirana country in India, Minamoto no Chujo Tadasu prays to Kannon and is granted Jozai Gozen, but the princess's mother soon dies of illness. When Ryoju Gozen is born to her stepmother, the princess is banished to a remote island and subjected to various forms of abuse, including confinement in a tulou. However, with the help of gods, Buddhas, and her younger sister Ryoju Gozen, she escapes danger. The sisters emigrate to the country of Harana, becoming wives of the brother of a prince. Later, she is reunited with her father and travels to Japan, where she becomes the god of Hakone and Izu. A type of honjimono (original story), a tale of stepchild abuse. 室町時代の物語。作者不詳。天竺斯羅奈(しらな)国の大臣源中将尹統は観音に祈って常在御前を授かるが,姫の母はやがて病死。継母に霊鷲(りようじゆ)御前が生まれると,姫は離島へ追放され,土楼への監禁などさまざまな虐待を受ける。しかし神仏や妹の霊鷲御前の助けで危機を脱出。姉妹は波羅奈(はらな)国の王子の兄弟の妃となって移住する。のちに父とも再会し日本に渡り,箱根,伊豆の神となった。本地物,継子いじめ譚の一種。
