A town in the northwest of the Miura Peninsula, facing Sagami Bay, in Miura County, Kanagawa Prefecture. Along with Kamakura and Zushi, it has long been famous as a resort and villa area in the Shonan region, but in recent years it has also become a residential area in the Keihin region. Morito is a beach and Hayama Port is the birthplace of yachting in Japan. The Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Hayama, opened in 2003. 17.04 km2 . Population: 32,766 (2010).
