Badari Culture - Badari Culture

Japanese: バダーリ文化 - バダーリぶんか
Badari Culture - Badari Culture
Established in the second half of the 5th millennium BC, it is the oldest Predynastic culture in Upper Egypt known to date, belonging to the Chalcolithic period. Its ruins are concentrated on the east bank of the Nile in Middle Egypt, such as Badari al-Badāri, Deir Tasa, Mustajidda, and Hammamiya, but its range extends from Naqada upstream to the vicinity of Hierakonpolis. They cultivated emmer wheat, six-row barley, and flax, and raised sheep, goats, and cattle. Their pottery is thin and well-fired, and is represented by comb-polished pottery and black-top red-polished pottery.
